Wine has been a traditional part of human foods and beverages for thousands of years. The oldest known winery dates by over 6,000 years. Wine consumption as a beverage and in cooking as a flavouring is integral part of history and culture.

A number of scientific studies indicate a number of health benefits linked to the consumption of polyphenols, proanthocyandins and resveratrol found in wine.\

For the consumer the consumption of wine in foods and beverages is restricted for a number of legislative, regulatory, cultural, religious and health related reasons. Zero alcohol wine powders remove these restrictions.

For the food and beverage manufacturer processing with wine has a number of restrictions associated with purchasing and processing with alcohol which are no longer an issue when processing with zero alcohol wine powders.

A number of studies have shown that despite the assumption that the alcohol is removed when cooking with wines this is often not the case with up to 20-40% of the alcohol remaining in the finished product.
